This site, zerorubbish.com, was started in 2006, as we wanted to put together a pretty comprehensive mobile link directory, without any garbage in it (pornography, personal pages, etc.). After we assembled the directory, we decided to add in support for saving users bookmarks on-line, via our site. This was how the site remained for two years. Recently, however, we have decided to expand on the original concept of the site and incorporate user chat rooms, forums, profiles, guestbooks, and more. The idea being to widen the functionality of what ZR can really do.

You have undoubtedly noticed that this site isn't very flashy, and has very simple controls. This was done on purpose to save server bandwidth on our end and yours. There are so many different kinds of mobile devices out there, that there isn't really a one-size-fits-all. Some devices have really fast internet access and can load full featured (pc version) web pages, with lots of graphics. Other mobile devices, such as "dumb" phones, have very simple browsers that cannot handle pages like this, and generally have slow internet connections.

ZR is very customizable. There are very few images in this site, i.e., the advertisement at the top of the site's pages, smilies in the chat rooms, forums, etc. To allow the user more flexibility in tailoring the site to their needs, an option under "My Account" is available to completely disable images for the entire site. In addition, there are also options to limit how much text is displayed on the screen when showing the chat rooms, forums, link directory, guest books, and more. We may extend the list of customizable features in the future.
